Review of NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

NARS radiant creamy concealers are buzz worthy because they're simply AMAZING! Let's get into the specs about this product. These concealers come in an array of colors, 10 total.

I think the shade range is pretty good, it ranges from very fair to very deep. I think there should be a few more colors for deeper skin tones and those in between so I give it a 4 out of 5 on shade selection.

The concealer features a simple wand with a doe-foot applicator. The application is simple and the creamy consistency allows for superb blending into the skin. I have the NARS radiant concealer in 3 shades Ginger, Caramel and Amande. Amande is a perfect match for my skin tone. I use Caramel to highlight under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose and chin, I use Ginger to highlight my eyebrows. The colors blend so well that it leaves no harsh lines, it truly looks like skin. I find the radiant factor rings very true, the concealer brightens without having shimmer or a pastey appearance on the skin.

This concealer is pricey. It's $28.00 for .22 oz of product, I think it's well worth it. MAC's moisture cover is $18.00 for .17 oz. and this concealer beats any of MAC's concealers if you ask me, plus a little goes a long way it's very pigmented.

NARS states that this product is free of

-Parabens
-Sulfates
-Phthalates

It's also non comedeogenic and dermatologist tested. You can purchase the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer from Sephora, Nordstrom and www.Narscosmetics.com. Have you tried this product? If so comment below and let us know what you think! JC

I'm wearing shades Ginger, Caramel and Amande in the above picture.

Royalty? or a Disgrace?

As crazy as it seems, no one is thinking about the future. It seems as if everybody is concerned with the "right now" as opposed to the future. like our actions serve no consequences. Whatever happened to being so focused on the goals you set for yourself that nobody had room to interfere? STOP WORRYING about people who do nothing for you. If these people arent your source of finance, food, or intimacy.. I dont see them relevant. whatever happened to family planning, after high school and college.. The world is a trip. I hate to be a living witness to a generation where having a baby is okay because of what he had on when you saw him in the club. Forget his mama might be crazy, and he never knew his dad, or that he might've been adopted, or raped as a child..the things we experience in life make us who we are. so why you drooling over the exterior of an indivudual, keep that in mind. No one is dating anymore. It's like you clubbing Friday, F*cking Saturday, and Pregnant by Monday. Trifling yes. But that's the reality we live in. CBS Detroit reported a 64.7 increase in child birth among teens only in 2012. Really? Do we ALL need babies, right now? -__- Call me crazy, but if I were to have a baby right now, in about 10 years my child would look to me and say "mama you was a deadbeat, you cared about yourself, clothes, cars, school, work money and shoes more than me" and that statement would be true, because I know myself and my limits and at this point I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO CARE FOR A CHILD AND MYSELF. (yeah I said it)  Not to say that some people don't make mistakes then learn from them, because there are. and shout out to all the young parents who are making ends meet for their families!! Imagine how sweet the African American community would be if instead of robbing, killing, ghetto baby mamas, deadbeat baby daddy's, uneducated children, alcoholics, and drug addicts we were full of business men, or men about their business, women who were comfortable enough by themselves that they wouldn't SETTLE for just anything in Gucci. You know how people say history repeats itself? Im waiting for the part where African Americans were Kings and Queens...

Own Your Look

It's Fashion Forward Friday!!!!

Summer is here and we want you ALL to own your looks!! The summer brings out the best and the worse in fashion and we're here to help you avoid being in the worse category. The first step to owning your look, is KNOWING YOUR BODY TYPE!!! Everything doesn't look good on everyone.  Here are the 4 BASIC body types.

Skinny or slimmer females tend to think they can wear whatever. No ma'am!! You aren't exempt!!!

Don't know your body type, no worries we're here to help!

HOURGLASS
-You have a well defined(narrow) waistline
-Your hip and bust tend to be almost the same and quite big

PEAR
-Your hips are wider than your shoulders
-Fat tends to accumulate on your thighs and butt
-Elongated waist and your legs tend to be shorter in comparison to the rest of your body.

RECTANGLE
-You have no defined waist
-Hips tend to have similar width as shoulders
-Not ALOT of curves
-Bust small/average

APPLE
-You have no defined waist
-Your weight forms on the stomach
-Average bust

When getting dressed....

HOURGLASS-You want to accentuate your feminine body. Fitted clothes are key(WHEN WORN APPROPRIATELY) You want to make the most of a small midsection. Avoid low-rise jeans, jeans with a fitted waist won't gape at the lower back.

PEAR- Your aim is to achieve a flattering look that accentuates your strengths, you want to try and achieve a nice hour glass shape. Draw attention to your upper body and waist, elongate the legs.

RECTANGLE- Your aim is to create more curves and a great silhouette. Define the waist, create curves on bottom or top

APPLE - Your aim is to create the illusion of a waist and silhouette. Highlight cleavage and create nice vertical lines. You can look extremely well if you wear the RIGHT clothes.

Upper Body
HOURGLASS-A good bra is ESSENTIAL!! You want to wear mostly V-shaped tips with deep necklines. High necklines will make your bust area look too bulky. Look for dresses that fit your boobs and elongate your waist, they should fit very snuggly

PEAR- A line dresses will always look good on you. Use accessories to further emphasize the top.

RECTANGLE- Use strong blocks of color for definition. Medium to high necklines usually work really well, especially if you have a small bust and long neck. Create the illusion of bigger boobs, choose tops with pockets and other front details; halter tops will also give the appearance of a bigger bust x shoes off your back, accessorize with belts

APPLE- You want to wear V necks to break up the size of your chest and create lean lines. Wear patterns, they flatter and camouflage. Tops should cover the whole belly area and end just bellow the hip bone. Dresses should have their waistline just below the bust.

Lower Body
HOURGLASS-You want to wear pencil skirts that fit well. Skirts ending at the knee usually look better. Choose shoes that accentuate your curves. Examples, rounded toes, peep toes

PEAR- You want to make sure your bottoms are the darkest part of your outfit. Waist belts will look good on you!! Wear heels with height to elongate your legs.

RECTANGLE- A line shirts work really well for this shape. You can also wear a tight skirt or pants to highlight the curves you DO have. A knee length pencil skirt that's tapered at the side will also add curves and look good.

APPLE- You should wear bottoms with zippers at the side. Wide/straight and NOT CLING to thighs/tummy (leggings are not you friend unless accompanied with a longer top). Any pleats should start bellow the belly to avoid adding volume.

WHAT NOT TO WEAR
HOURGLASS-Avoid took many details on your clothes, they will add extra bulk to places that can do without. Avoid excess fabric. NO WAISTBANDS OR BELTS!!!! Let your clothes accentuate your small waist.

PEAR- Avoid skinny jeans(they CAN be worn with tunics or long A-line tops), pencil skirts, bias cut skirts and very short skirts!

RECTANGLE- Avoid shapeless clothes. If you want to add curves then avoid straight dresses.

APPE- Avoid big shapeless garments that don't show any waist. Pants with lots of pockets and zippers, high neck lines, CLINGY ANYTHING should be avoided. Avoid wearing everything in one solid color, it's better to mix color with texture.

We all are different in height and weight, REMEMBER THOSE THINGS MAKE A DIFFERENCE ALSO!

Skirts and dresses are a girls best friend during the warmer months. Your hem lines should fit YOU! Sometimes you may have to bite the bullet and pay the extra to have your hem lines tailored to fit YOU!!  For the concentrated awesomeness ladies(short) anything longer than the 29 and 36in length skirts ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND, you want to elongate the leg NOT make yourself appear shorter. If you want that look, go to a tailor!!

Lets have fun with wardrobes this summer!! Go crazy with bright colors, funky prints, and sexy stripes!!!! Whatever look you choose OWN IT and dress with CONFIDENCE. 💋

5 steps to glowing summer skin!

Summer's here! Although it took its sweet time this year it has ARRIVED and it's time to say "Bye Ashy"(in my Porsha Stewart voice) and kick dull, lack luster skin to the curb.

First things first we want to get rid of any dead skin lingering on the surface of the skin. Use a scrub all over the face and body to reveal fresh new skin. I have a recipe that can be found under the "All About Mattes" post in the left sidebar.

Use a moisturizer to keep skin glowing and soft throughout the day. I like Shea Butter. The secret is to melt it down to an oil and then massage it into the skin.

Shea butter has a natural sunscreen but it's not enough to keep you protected from UVA/UVB rays. Try L'oreal Sublime SPF 30 $10.99 at drugstores.

For the face try to use a 2 in 1 moisturizer/sunscreen. Aveeno Positively Radiant SPF 30  is a great choice $14.99 at drugstores.

Bronzer is a girls best friend come summer time! Apply your Bronzer with a big fluffy brush on the areas that the sun would naturally hit; Top of the cheeks, forehead, down the bridge of your nose, chin and cuspids bow.
Try Covergirl Queen Bronzer $6.99 at drugstores

Or Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder $38.00 at select department stores

Now you're summertime fine and ready to hit the streets! Tell us what your must have beauty products are for the summer?

ALL ABOUT MATTES !!!!!!

Morning! Today we're talking about matte lipsticks. I love a good velvety matte lip! Something that stays all day and looks fresh even after eating or drinking is a weakness for a girls like US.

A lot of women say they hate matte lipstick because they're "sooo drying to the lips" hmmm is it the lipstick or is it that YOUR lips are already dry? A creamy or shiny lipstick will fool you into thinking your lips are ultra moisturized. But look a little closer and I'm sure you'll see those unsightly cracks and cuts in your lips with your favorite moisturizing lipstick just as you would with a matte lipstick.

So here's a little tip and a recipe to combat stubborn dry chapped lips:

Jill's Simple Sugar Scrub

What you'll need:
  • Olive Oil
  • White granulated sugar
  • 1 small mixing bowl
  • 1 teaspoon
  • 1 toothbrush

Simply mix a few drops of olive oil with one teaspoon of the sugar, mix the two together, add the mixture to the toothbrush and apply to your lips in circular motions. You'll be left with baby soft lips free from dry skin, cuts and cracks.

Now on to a few of my favorite matte lipsticks.

From Left to Right:
  • Make Up For Ever- Aqua Rouge #7
  • Kat Von D liquid lipstick- Backstage Bambi
  • Stila Liquid Lipstick in Beso, Bellissma, and Patina

The key to applying liquid lipsticks are to apply them as if you would a lip gloss but DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT rub your lips together! Simply place your lips together to get the color even on your lips. I add a darker contrasting lip liner, blot my lips together and Voila perfect pout-ty, sexy matte lips! Here are a few pictures of me wearing these matte colors..... JC
